Carrot

A long orange root vegetable bought at a village a few days back along the Shin road, named for Kaladin by Szeth. Grown by burrowing down into actual soil — which strikes Kaladin as faintly unsanitary — and good raw, sweet and crunchy. He washes them three times and fries them in his travel skillet with a pinch of sugar, and Syl insists they look like people's toes. SA:WaT:Ch 103
