Side carry
Kaladin's alternate bridge-carry — bridge held on its right side rather than overhead — first drilled in Bridge Four as a recovery posture for a half-strength crew. Used in a Tower assault as a shield, it goes catastrophically wrong: the army's archers cannot time their volleys, other crews emulate Bridge Four at different speeds, the assault stalls, and over two hundred bridgemen die.
