Stenford runestone
A large carved stone standing in the centre of Ealstan's courtyard, its surface incised with runes — said by the thegn, with great seriousness, to bind and pacify the village's wights even now. John passes it off as a trick of the light when he thinks he sees the runes glow faintly under Sefawynn's hand. STD:FWH:Ch 10
