The mother Shallan could never bring herself to remember — and, in the chamber Pattern chose for her in Urithiru, the woman she finally confronts. She came to Shallan's father's room with a friend to confront him after learning what Shallan could do, named her daughter *one of them*, and — after her friend pinned Shallan's father — took the knife and came for Shallan herself. The young Shallan killed her with a Blade summoned out of mist: Pattern. Her father let the world believe he had killed her and her lover in a rage, and the lie destroyed him. SA:WoR:Ch 88
