Koravellium Avast
also known as Kor
A dragon of Yolen — *the beautiful dragon heretic of Yolen* — and the mortal-era love Tanavast had to keep secret because their union was forbidden. She left her people because they wanted her to take their prayers and, knowing someone must, took up the Cultivation shard rather than be worshipped. When she arrives on Roshar she has assumed her human form: a brown-skinned woman with full features and an embrace Tanavast compares to the sky. SA:WaT:Ch 100
Known facts
- koravellium-avast-proposes-the-divine-covenantOn the mountaintop after Rayse shows that a full clash of gods would annihilate Roshar as it did the region where Ambition died, Kor is the one who proposes the limits — equations that manifest in the air, defining how only a portion of divine power can be granted to mortals, in controlled forms. Either great power to a few who bind themselves to divine rules, or lesser power scattered indiscriminately to many.SA:WaT:Ch 113
- divine-covenant-has-holes-that-tanavast-fearsKor presses Tanavast about the gaps in the divine covenant she designed: if one of them dies, followers can draw the power without being bound — because the dying god's will was what held the binding — and the covenant does not prevent the gods clashing personally. He has seen the holes. He fears Rayse goading him into a personal fight that would let either consequence become real.SA:WaT:Ch 115
Events
- SA:WaT:Ch 100 Arrives on Roshar from the dark between worlds and embraces Tanavast from behind; in her human form pleads with him to leave the Rosharans to their songs and find an uninhabited world for the two of them. She stays.
- SA:WaT:Ch 104 Works the spren-making with Tanavast, shapes the eighth order alone, and urges a tenth kind whose nature is uninfluenced by outside thought. Tells him to *ignore* Rayse and not break the agreement; lets him go when he insists on it anyway.
- SA:WaT:Ch 107 At the end of the chapter Tanavast travels home to her arms and weeps until the portal opens — bringing Rayse, of course, with the survivors.
- SA:WaT:Ch 113 Returns to the nest in Roshar's verdant heart bearing the news that Rayse killed Aona and Skai; rears up beside Tanavast on the mountaintop in her draconic form, proposes the equations of the divine covenant, and warns Rayse she will gather the others against him as they once dealt with Adonalsium.
- SA:WaT:Ch 115 Makes art with Tanavast in Roshar's landscape, then pleads with him to stay rather than reach for the other Shards — and, when he goes anyway to bind the Heralds, watches him leave knowing it breaks her heart.
