Pure Tones of Roshar

Three ancient pure tones — the notes of Honor, Cultivation and Odium — that survive as the three notes of an old scale humans largely no longer use. Navani discovers that Stormlight responds to the first note and Voidlight to the third: when a tuning fork sustains the proper pitch beside an infused gemstone, the Light streams out and follows the tone. Raboniel knew the relationship already and calls the notes by this name. The Sibling insists there are truly only two — the notes of their mother and father — and that the note of Odium is an interloper. SA:RoW:Ch 69
