The interior pulses a listener hears and attunes — Peace, Curiosity, Anxiety, Awe, Mourning, the Terrors, and others — each carrying its own feeling. Listeners hum to a rhythm to mark mood and meaning. Humans, Eshonai notes, cannot hear them. SA:OB:Prologue
