Shaor's Men
The third and largest of the original Elantris gangs, controlled in name by Shaor. Bald, half-naked, and effectively feral, they fight with iron bars and bare hands, ignore wounds that would stop any other Elantrian, and attack any newcomer in reach. With Raoden now intercepting the Guard's deliveries before Shaor's band can collect them, the raids are intensifying. EL:EL:Ch 19
Known facts
- converted-to-raodenAfter Raoden entered Shaor's territory and walked back unscathed, the surviving wildmen — minds beyond recovery — left her hair at his feet in tribute and bound themselves to him as their new god. He calls them kayana and uses them as tireless, simple labour while keeping them on a short leash.EL:EL:Ch 34
Events
- EL:EL:Ch 19 A small raiding party — drawn by rumour of the seed corn — charges out of a side hallway at Raoden. The lead madman is beheaded by Saolin, four others fall wounded, and the remainder break and flee.
- EL:EL:Ch 22 Eight kneel in adoration before Shaor inside the vault and break into pursuit at her order; without smell or wit, they pass under Raoden and Galladon's rooftop a half-dozen times without thinking to look up.
- EL:EL:Ch 28 Pour from every alley around the courtyard in pursuit of Sarene's food, lose several to Eondel and the Guard, and end the scene gorging on the abandoned cartloads.
- EL:EL:Ch 31 Attack the gyorn for his basket and are put down in seconds; later submit to Raoden's fire when seed corn proves uneatable raw.
- EL:EL:Ch 34 The surviving wildmen, minds gone, haul stone for Mareshe's crews and obey Raoden like favoured pets.
