Wax's habit of burning steel while Pushing lightly outward in all directions at once, so any small piece of metal moving quickly toward him is shoved aside with rising force as it draws near. He cannot dodge bullets; the bubble can. He still cannot fully explain how he learned to exempt the metal he carries himself, but it has come, over time, through long practice — including standing in front of Darriance's revolver in twelve inches of padding.
