Streetslots of Urteau

Urteau's streets are the dry beds of its former canals. The canals emptied roughly a hundred years before the chapter — no one agrees why — and rather than refill them the people simply began to use the bottoms as roads, with ladders, ramps, and the occasional stair leading up to the sidewalks and buildings of the city above.
