The Yeddaw cistern
An enormous cone hollowed out of the stone in the middle of Yeddaw and filled with rainwater, the size of several houses and crossed by a single bridge from which people lower buckets on ropes. A raised rim around it sends storm runoff away rather than in, and the rest of the city's streets slope outward to keep it pure. SA:ED:Ch 8
