Anti-Light
also known as anti-light, negative light
A theorised opposite to Stormlight (and the other Lights) that, on contact with its positive counterpart, would annihilate it instantly — by analogy with the negative and positive axi already known to destroy one another on contact. Raboniel had discarded the idea, believing Voidlight must be the opposite of Stormlight; Navani's mention of air-warping spheres reopens it. SA:RoW:Ch 65
Known facts
- weapon-mechanic-via-fused-style-tipA bolt mounting an anti-Stormlight-charged gemstone uses a metal tip patterned after the Fused weapons that move Light — it *injects* the anti-Light into the wound, where it spreads through the victim with each heartbeat as a cold that prowls the veins. The injected anti-Light feels drawable, like normal Stormlight — but drawing it in is suicide, because if it meets a breath of true Stormlight inside the wielder the two annihilate.SA:WaT:Ch 28
- anti-light-born-from-honor-and-odium-clashWhen Tanavast loses his temper and throws himself bodily at Rayse on the Natanatan battlefield, their souls are forced together in a too-intimate, creation-like moment — and in that thunderclap *tiny pieces of something discordant* are born: the counter to Honor's essence, which Tanavast later names *anti-Light.* He flags it then and there as something dangerous even to a god.SA:WaT:Ch 120
