Captain of the Wandersail — a short, sharp-nosed woman with unusually blonde hair and curled eyebrows, today turned out in her formal white naval dress with full medals and tricorn hat. Trained the Wandersail's crew on test runs before its commissioning and clearly resents that Vstim gave the ship to Rysn rather than to her. SA:DS:Ch 3
Events
- SA:DS:Ch 3 Welcomes Rysn aboard formally, suggests she remain at port, then carries her order that any spooked crewman may step off before sailing.
- SA:DS:Ch 4 Walks past Rysn's exposed deck-station with her usual disapproving glance, then returns at the chapter's end with grim news for the rebsk.
- SA:DS:Ch 5 Watches the Hexi nomads genuinely buy worm-filled grain off the ship and grudgingly admits she had not believed the trick until she saw it.
- SA:DS:Ch 7 Stands beside Rysn at the rail, declines to contradict the sailor calling for the voyage to turn back, then ratifies Rysn's good-omen reading once the argument is won — telling Rysn afterward that she will not waste her crew's lives on a whim.
- SA:DS:Ch 9 Informed of Rysn's plan ahead of time; takes the quarterdeck after the arrest to brief the crew on what just happened.
- SA:DS:Ch 10 Commands the storm-crossing from the quarterdeck; lets Lopen stick one of her feet to the boards rather than rely on a rope, and afterwards stares with him at the gap in Akinah's spike-wall and mutters that the island is actually real.
- SA:DS:Ch 11 Reports the survey from the eel's nest, oars the Wandersail in through the gap, and stands watching with Rysn when Chiri-Chiri dives off the ship into the bay.
- SA:DS:Ch 13 Holds the Wandersail at anchor inside the spike-wall while Rysn talks with Cord.
- SA:DS:Ch 14 Rallies the ten remaining sailors when the cremling swarms board the Wandersail; the men are surrounded almost at once and their spear-thrusts pass uselessly through the assembled bodies.
- SA:DS:Epilogue Bows into Rysn's cabin, confesses she had not expected any of them to see the sun again, and tells Rysn that the Sleepless who had been aboard left word — before Rysn returned — of how she had refused to bargain her own life unless the deal included the entire crew. *A rebsk worthy of this crew.*
