An unnamed scout flying alone in the corridor that holds the buried door — first sighting of the Cinder King's presence in the region. Spots Nomad and Rebeke from cover beside a frozen lava wave; descends low to terrain to be hard to see and almost certainly to report back over the radio. STD:TSM:Ch 13

- STD:TSM:Ch 13 First spotted at distance, descending close to terrain beside a frozen lava wave — observed without yet realising he has been observed in return.
- STD:TSM:Ch 14 Gaunt, long-mustached, in a white coat with red stripes. Spotted, spun his cycle, and dived into a lava tube for cover; led the chase through canyon and crater until he was rattled into mistakes and Rebeke shot him off his cycle from the rim.
- STD:TSM:Ch 15 His corpse is searched at the crash site — Nomad finds a child's drawing tucked into a pocket and slips it back without mentioning it.
