Koring

A midsized Shin coastal city in Shinovar, host to the Willshaper monastery, which Szeth knew in his Honorbearer days as an open settlement with no surrounding wall. In the years since his exile the city has thrown a flimsy wooden palisade around itself and become a refuge for the only Shin in the region who are not — by their own bewildered account — *different*, *dark*; those *who subtract* now defend it nightly against the rest of their countrymen, who hide by day and break against the wall by night.
