Stilling
A pause in the seethe: a stretch of time during which the spores sit solid and a ship is grounded on the sea. Most stillings last only a few minutes — the gap between one breath and the next — though longer ones come every day or two, and very rare ones can run an entire day. STD:Tress:Ch 11
