Crimson Spores

The spores that fall on the Crimson Sea, blood-red and violently aggressive when wet. On contact with water they erupt into a snarl of needle-sharp aether spikes, sturdy enough to spear a sailor through several times over and to hold a rainline's aftermath as a wall of red thorns rising from the sea until the stilling passes.
