The Seethe
The intermittent fluidisation of a spore sea by columns of air rising from vents on the ocean floor — what lets ships sail across what is otherwise loose dust. When the seethe ceases, every vessel on that sea is stranded in place until it begins again. STD:Tress:Ch 7
Known facts
- stranded-sea-is-walkableWhen the seethe ceases, the spore sea reverts to a fluidised dust dune solid enough to be walked on like sand — making a stranding both a ship's worst tactical situation and, for someone desperate enough, an unlikely means of escape across the surface.STD:Tress:Ch 10
