The Machine

The Vanishers' heist contraption — part barge, part crane — that Miles designed and the Set paid to build. It rides the canals into position beside a stopped train, anchors itself to the shore with a stabilising leg that leaves a rectangular print in the earth, and uses a long crane arm and a counterweighted second arm to swap an entire freight car for a hidden replica. The whole rig can then be draped in tarps so the silhouette reads as a quarry barge. MB2:AoL:Ch 15
