The peasant Nomad hauled out of the arena mud and back to the hovercycle — the gap-toothed man who had pulled him up onto the top crate during the round. Carried into Beacon in and out of consciousness with a twisted leg and a bleeding face, he is whisked off for medical care on Zeal's order. STD:TSM:Ch 7
A heavyset, pale-skinned man with brown eyes, a dimpled chin and a gap-toothed smile who pulled Nomad up onto the tallest crate during the arena hunt without knowing him. He survived the round but is dragged up onto the podium ship as the second captive scheduled for the ember spear — apparently because his determined evasion has marked him out, like the other elevations, as someone strong enough to be useful as one of Glowing Eyes' warriors. STD:TSM:Ch 4 superseded at STD:TSM:Ch 7

- STD:TSM:Ch 7 Carried into Beacon in and out of consciousness, listing against the seat belt with a twisted leg, then handed off to a knot of medics.
- STD:TSM:Ch 4 Hauled up onto the podium ship as the second captive scheduled for the ember spear; his terrified shouts crack Nomad's resolve and prompt him to throw Aux as a Blade.
- STD:TSM:Ch 5 Found half-buried in mud near where the podium had been, his leg twisted the wrong way and his face bleeding from a soldier's kick; rescued by Nomad and thrown across the back-left seat of the rescuer's hovercycle.
- STD:TSM:Ch 6 Strapped into the back-left seat of the hovercycle, drifting in and out of consciousness from his beaten leg as the chase unfolds around him.
