Breath Equivalent Unit

The unit Aux uses to count Nomad's remaining Investiture. Different thresholds unlock different abilities — around a thousand BEUs lets Nomad's body absorb punishment that would break an ordinary man, two thousand lets him Connect to a planet and speak its language, and a Skip away from a world costs the largest reserve of all. Above each threshold the ongoing cost is minimal; below it, the ability simply ceases. STD:TSM:Ch 1
