A spear form Nomad remembers from his old life — the very first such kata he ever saw — that he performs on the deck of Elegy's ship in front of the surviving Charred and the watching Cinder King. Spinning, twisting, every step a drumbeat, the spear reflecting nearby cinderhearts as it moves: a sequence designed less to kill than to be seen and feared.
