Stone statues of warriors that stand in every pose across T'Telir, armed and dressed in colourful clothing by passers-by as a Hallandren pastime — about a thousand of them, set in place by Peacegiver at the close of the Manywar and added to by each Returned since. The originals are not statues: they are Lifeless with human bones encased in stone, sleepers awaiting the Command phrase to march. STD:WB:Ch 58

Lore says the first were commissioned by Peacegiver the Blessed at the close of the Manywar; each Returned has added to the count in the centuries since, paid for out of the city's offerings. Known facts

There are human bones inside each statue — stone cannot be Awakened, but bones encased in stone can be, and a Lifeless strong enough to move its stone body becomes a soldier nearly impossible to hurt or break. Vasher made about a thousand of them at the close of the Manywar without ichor-alcohol; they have stood unmoving in T'Telir ever since, mistaken by Hallandren for a monument.STD:WB:Ch 58
