A pirate captain whose fleet was destroyed roughly fifteen years ago when he tried to take the throne of Teod. The remnants of his band have vanished, but his name remains the convenient cover that Iadon's court reaches for whenever someone needs an explanation other than Fjorden for the ongoing sinkings — even though no one in Sarene's circle is sure whether he was Aonic, Fjordell, or Svordish. - EL:EL:Ch 5 Recognises his grown niece Sarene in the throne room, hauls her home for a JinDo-style supper he has cooked himself, and lets slip that he no longer officially has a title.
- EL:EL:Ch 8 Hosts lunch, ribs his children, and steers Sarene gently away from Kaise's accidental reminder that her prince is dead.
- EL:EL:Ch 11 Hosts the meeting in his kitchen and at his table — feeds the conspirators a roast pig of his own, briefs Sarene on each man as they arrive, and stays up afterwards over wine with Roial and his niece.
