Elsegate
A portal cut between two distant points by an Elsecaller of sufficient skill — appearing as a slit in reality some feet across, bowed outward like a wound. Difficult to master: even among trained Shin Honorbearers only a small fraction ever manage it. Szeth is a Honorbearer who never learned the skill in years of training, yet stitches one open in extremis by anchoring on his own quest rather than the technique. SA:WaT:Ch 53
