Quinn Jericho
Ulric Stromfin's enforcer and right-hand man, shorter and leaner than his boss, with a face like a shovel and a set of boxer's augments; here in Weswara at his side, beard grown in for cover, dragging Wyrm out of Ealstan's hall on Ulric's nod. STD:FWH:Ch 7
Known facts
- broke-john-in-a-thrown-title-boutQuinn was the opposite corner at the EFL title fight John was ordered to throw — the bout where Quinn stood over him in front of the cameras and kept kicking until John's ribs caved in. From the language Quinn uses on him in Wealdsig's hall, the boxer's loyalty to Ulric is undisturbed and he holds John in the same casual contempt the rest of the organisation does.STD:FWH:Ch 21
- feared-losing-the-fixed-boutYears ago, in the EFL title bout that Ulric ordered John to throw, Quinn had been quietly afraid he might lose even with John's platings sabotaged. John recognises the look of relief on Quinn's face — across the years and across the saferoom floor — when he finally pieces together that Quinn knew, at the time, that he had been the better boxer.STD:FWH:Ch 36
Events
- STD:FWH:Ch 7 Walks out beside Ulric in the messenger's cloak, then drags Wyrm out of the line of servants on Ulric's nod.
- STD:FWH:Ch 20 Walks into the manor hall behind the woman Wealdsig had sent on an errand, takes one look at the man standing by the fire in a wizard's cloak, and asks Johnny what the hell he's doing here.
- STD:FWH:Ch 21 Strolls into the manor in tactical camo, drinks Wealdsig's ale, lays out for John exactly how badly he understands his own situation — bait dimension, sealed off after Ryan dropped in, cartel base at Maelport — pulls a working phone, watches it crumble in his hand, and rides off on his bike for Maelport rather than waste another second on Johnny.
- STD:FWH:Ch 32 Steps out of an alley directly into John's line of fire, drops both his pistols at order, and is told he is *under arrest*; relaxes when John declines to shoot him on the grounds of Tacy and the kids, then complains about the indignity of being caught by John in particular.
- STD:FWH:Ch 33 Dragged along to the wall under John's gun; lets slip that Ulric has no other beacon and needs Ryan's to call the rest of the gang through. Talks John into lowering the gun and runs off.
- STD:FWH:Ch 34 Bursts into the saferoom with the news that lightning has blown the gates open and the Vikings are on the city, then leaves with Ulric and the riflemen.
- STD:FWH:Ch 35 Crouches at the portal rig when John gets back inside the saferoom — reports the coordinates have been altered, refuses to leave, lays out Ulric's plan to switch sides to the Vikings, and squares up to fight rather than let John wreck the device.
- STD:FWH:Ch 36 Fights John across the portal rig in the saferoom — wins the bulk of the first half, hesitates the moment he believes John's platings are back online, loses, and is thrown through the portal toward the Seattle PD station with a whispered thank-you and a request to give his best to Tacy.
