Wax's Bloodmaker Spike

An ordinary metal spike that Wax takes from one of the dead doppelgangers on the Shaw floor and pounds through his own clothing between two of his lower ribs, granting him a charge of duralumin and — with care — the Bloodmaker healing he has spent the book without. The spike makes the leap to a ship he could otherwise never reach possible. Harmony is mildly amused: not blasphemous, he tells Wax, more a matter of industrious recycling. MB2:TLM:Ch 69
