A scarred Inquisitor of the Canton of Inquisition. Marked with arrowhead wounds Vin put into him at her entry to Kredik Shaw — already half-healed by the next sundown. He carries her up the spire to be presented to the Lord Ruler and uses her to win the Steel Ministry for the Inquisitors. MB1:TFE:Ch 36

- MB1:TFE:Ch 36 Pinned but standing on a wounded leg, Kar hauls Vin in from behind in the den and petitions to keep her for questioning.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 36 Carries Vin up the spire stair, makes the petition in the glass chamber, and uses her parentage to win the Ministry for his Canton.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 37 Drops Vin back through the cell door, promises a slower torture than the one that broke Reen, then leaves to take formal command of the Ministry.
