The Spike-Eye Statue

An enormous stone-and-aluminum statue of the Lord Ruler standing atop the steps of the temple — long coat, one wooden spear at his side tipped with aluminum, an aluminum spike driven through his right eye. Wayne notices the spike, and Wax reads it: the Lord Mistborn's testimony said the Lord Ruler was once stabbed in single combat by a beggar, a worker, and a prince — and the spears didn't hurt him.
