The Sovereign's Temple
also known as hidden temple, mountain temple
A one-story stone fortress in a windswept rock-and-snow valley high in the Seran Range — built of the same broad blocks as the field it stands on, fronted by an enormous statue of the Lord Ruler in long coat with a spear at his side, gates long since shattered. Inside, blue translucent-glass lights wake at a touch of ettmetal from a hidden socket, and a single long hallway full of dart-, spear-, pit-, and crushing-log traps runs from the entryway toward a sealed inner door — built by priests of the Sovereign to guard the Bands of Mourning until he should return for them. Known facts
- traps-built-to-defeat-allomancersThe temple's traps are pointedly built without Allomantically reactive metal — the spear that killed the lead Hunter is solid wood, Wax notes — so that the talents the priests assumed any thief would bring would be no help. Pressure plates trigger spears, darts, swinging spiked logs, drop blocks, and a pit; the corridor runs the length of the building, intended to be impassable.MB2:BoM:Ch 23
