Silajana
TwinSoul's aether — the rose-coloured roseite crystal that grows along his hands and temples and out of them: spectacles, pen nib, cup, chair, knife edge, even a city-scale model of Bilming. He speaks for it in the first person — *Silajana says he would be happy to aid in this* — and treats it as a partner, not a tool. MB2:TLM:Ch 39
Known facts
- called-a-primal-aetherTwinSoul tells Marasi that Silajana is *both less and more than a god* — one of the primal aethers, eternal entities his people hold to predate Adonalsium himself (a sacred tenet Moonlight mildly corrects: predating the Shattering is not the same as predating Adonalsium). The crystal bud embedded in TwinSoul's right palm connects him to Silajana, and through him to every other of Silajana's aetherbound; he names himself Silajana's mortal agent in the cosmere.MB2:TLM:Ch 42
- aetherbound-can-sense-through-stoneResting his hand on the factory's back wall, TwinSoul grows a fan of crystal between the boards and along the brick; the aether senses through the contact point — and reports back to him as if in conversation — the room on the other side, its clutter of shelves, that it is empty of people, and which wall is clear of shelving for Moonlight to cut their door into.MB2:TLM:Ch 44
- can-form-mobile-constructGiven enough pure Investiture to draw on, Silajana's roseite can be grown into a free-standing, mobile construct around TwinSoul — a twelve-foot stone behemoth with jointed limbs and a mace, the Investiture jar embedded at its core as fuel. Moonlight notes the form can also shrink to fit narrower corridors or push an elevator to the top of the caverns.MB2:TLM:Ch 51
Events
- MB2:TLM:Ch 39 Grows from TwinSoul's body — spectacles, pen nib, cup, chair, knife edge, pointer, and a full crystal model of Bilming — and is spoken for in the first person.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 40 The Bilming model on the round table has started to crumble; the chair TwinSoul grew is still solid. He kits out with a water-pack and hose for the strike.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 42 Present through TwinSoul's bud — the crystal web in his palm — as he opens it to the train window light to show Marasi the bonded form of an aether.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 44 Senses through TwinSoul's palm into the room beyond the brick — *no one is inside; the wall to the right of the window bears no shelving* — picking the safe wall for the door-stamp.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 45 Through TwinSoul — senses the dock layout and grows the ladder beneath his feet as he descends the factory freight shaft.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 47 Through TwinSoul's crystal threads, scouts the elevator landing and the lab-shack tunnel; offers — politely — to send the bored guards to the aethers to ruminate on their poor choices.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 50 Implicit through TwinSoul's sensing the layout of the lab shack before the assault; otherwise silent in this chapter.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 51 Grows on command into a barricade, then a free-standing juggernaut with a tulip-headed roseite mace; bullet damage self-heals so long as the embedded Investiture jar burns.
