The Stormfather
The spren of the highstorm — a sliver, not the soul, of the Almighty, who was destroyed by Odium. He is *the memory men create for Him now that He is gone,* and admits as much to Dalinar on the roof of Urithiru. He delivered the visions only because the Almighty required it before His death; the Everstorm is His opposite and beyond Him to stop. Against His warning that He would not be bound in a way to kill Him, He nonetheless accepts Dalinar's Second Ideal and bonds him as the first Bondsmith of the new age — *I will not be a simple sword. The vast wind-and-thunder presence behind every highstorm — and, Dalinar learns on the day of the Parshendi battle, the voice he has been hearing in his visions. The Stormfather names himself in the open: both spren and god, the sliver of Honor left in the world after Odium killed Him, the piece of the divine that men must feel in the wind. He says he can do nothing to stop the Everstorm the Parshendi are calling — only bring a highstorm of cleansing to carry away the corpses — and breaks the visions off, told that a daughter of his disobeys him.
