Perpendicularity
A piercing of the three realms — Physical, Cognitive, Spiritual — at a fixed point where enough power of one of the Shards has pooled to open a crossing between worlds. The most familiar instance on Roshar is Honor's Perpendicularity; Dalinar now opens one at will in Urithiru's cistern as a Bondsmith gateway between worlds. SA:WaT:Ch 32
A portal between Scadrial and other worlds — the means by which off-planet travellers like Moonlight and TwinSoul reach the Basin, ordinarily through Shadesmar. Moonlight tells Marasi there is a known local perpendicularity far to the south under careful control; TwinSoul adds that the controlled route would not, by itself, allow Autonomy's army through. The pair fear Autonomy has opened — or is about to open — a new perpendicularity at Bilming against all understood mechanics, and that Entrone's errand at the Community is to *see to it*.
