Pozen-son-Nash
Elderly bearer of the Elsecaller Honorblade — Batlah's sword — and one of Szeth's earliest Shin teachers, especially in Shadesmar craft. Tufted white hair, clean-shaven, shrouded in inky black cloth; sits cross-legged on platforms of his own beads when he fights. He pulls Szeth into Shadesmar mid-pilgrimage and refuses to wait his turn on the monastery circuit. SA:WaT:Ch 53
Known facts
- architect-of-szeths-replacement-of-tukoAfter the duel, Pozen confirms to the assembled Honorbearers what Tuko had named on the floor: he had hand-picked Szeth for this seat from a *decaying so-called monastery,* and groomed him for years to replace a colleague the others wanted gone — *another of his glassy-eyed sheep* — the self-satisfaction in his voice no different than at any other table he wins.SA:WaT:Ch 83
- knew-tuko-was-killed-deliberately-for-szethSzeth overhears Pozen and Sivi in the corridor: Pozen explicitly tells her that *we* killed Tuko and replaced him with someone far more skilled, and that the Voice assures him the situation is under control — *particularly with the specific leverage you made sure to get for us.* The line implies Sivi arranged a hold over Szeth in advance of all this.SA:WaT:Ch 102
