Ahu
also known as Ahu
A small, odd beggar Dalinar returns to on the Beggars' Porch of the Kholinar palace whenever he needs a drink the cooks would tattle about. Dark-skinned for an Alethi, with a matted black beard and clothing in scraps, smelling worse than the compost — but with a bottle always somewhere to hand. He hears voices that chant about tearing him apart, and giggles answering questions about them. He says the voices are not madness; he says he and others like him let *them* in. SA:OB:Ch 88
A Herald whom the others defer to as a leader. Reluctantly accepts that the order can no longer continue and argues for leaving a hopeful lie behind. SA:WoK:Prelude superseded at SA:OB:Ch 88
Known facts
- soul-destroyed-by-elDestroyed at last. El takes the gemstone-and-dagger that holds the Herald's remnant down from the Kholinar palace vault shelf, touches an anti-Light gem to the blade's tip to draw the anti-Light into the prison, and watches what little of Jezrien remains flash, crack the stone, and end.SA:WaT:I-3
- set-down-honorblade-at-aharietiamAt Aharietiam Jezrien sets his Blade into the stone of the meeting hollow with his own hand, telling Ishar he can wield Honor no longer after abandoning a friend — and as he does, he feels himself *putting his burden upon Taln.* Nale is the first to follow, setting down his Blade with a single shiver before walking out without a word.SA:WaT:Ch 77
- takes-the-throne-after-zoral-and-leads-survivors-off-ashynWith Zoral *the Voidbringer* dead, Jezrien — once one of the city-state leaders who joined Rayse's empire and adopted its ways — declares himself king and goes among the burned offering peace. He tells Makibak he means to do better, that Ishar has *found the songs* for a portal to a new world, and asks him to bring his people across.SA:WaT:Ch 107
