The magic of the Elantrians — restored. An Elantrian traces an Aon with a fingertip and crosses it with the Chasm line; the symbol blazes with Dor light and *does* what it names. With Elantris itself feeding the working, Aons like Aon Daa immolate and Aon Ien heals to no scar; Aon Tia is a long-range transport sigil. EL:EL:Ch 61

Broken at the Reod when the Chasm opened in southern Arelon and threw every traditional Aon out of register with the land. With the missing Chasm line added at the bottom of each character, the Dor answers again, though for unknown reasons the symbols still fire at a fraction of their former strength and refuse to act on an Elantrian's own body.
