limited-to-two-or-three-attributesThe southern craft can usually combine only two attributes in one medallion — weight plus Connection, weight plus heat. Three has been achieved twice in Allik's lifetime; four has never worked, because the stored attributes interfere with one another. nicrosil-ring-grants-investitureWax reads the metals himself: the inner nicrosil ring is what grants Investiture — tap it, and the wearer becomes a temporary Feruchemist of whatever attribute the outer ring is configured for. blank-connection-binds-to-placeThe translator medallion is stored with *blank* Connection — a Connection to no place. Because Connection can't be Connection to nothing, the wearer's tap reaches out and Connects them to wherever they currently are: the soul comes to believe it was raised in that land, and the wearer's language changes accordingly. The medallion can only ever translate for the visitor; a local who taps it just Connects to where they already are.
