Human
A large, scarred koloss kept under Vin's Allomantic control for company as much as for use. Older and more articulate than most koloss Vin has met, he picks his own name — Human — and explains it as a thing his kind aspire to. He is among the first koloss she has heard reason. MB1:HoA:Ch 8
Known facts
- tells-vin-mist-hates-her-tooHuman tells Vin she is one of them — not like the humans of the camp — because, like the koloss, the mists hate her. He hates the mists because they hate him. He observes also that humans do not attack things that make them uncomfortable, but instead make the koloss kill them — the line is one Vin does not have an answer for.MB1:HoA:Ch 15
Events
- MB1:HoA:Ch 8 Lumbers beside Vin on the march, names himself, and explains in his slow, deliberate way that he is old because he is big, that there are no female or juvenile koloss, and that new koloss somehow come from existing ones. Tells Vin he hates her and would kill her if he could, and that his kind mean to become human by killing humans.
- MB1:HoA:Ch 15 Sits cross-legged at the edge of camp, ash drifting up his blue legs, watching the human tents with longing in his red eyes. Vin orders him back to the koloss army; he asks, with the slow gravity of his kind, why he must stay separate. He tells her she is one of them — and that he hates the mists because they hate him.
- MB1:HoA:Ch 37 Falls in alongside Vin when she lands among the surviving koloss, a fresh gash bleeding down one arm. He explains that they are fewer, that they have too many swords now, that they need more — and that Vin is the one who should give the more. When she pushes him with Allomancy he screams, then runs a koloss corpse into the camp, rips its skin off, extracts four small bloody spikes, and walks into the triage tent reaching for a wounded soldier before Vin freezes him in his mind.
- MB1:HoA:Ch 65 Stands buried partway in the ash at the head of Vin's reserved thousand koloss — the band Ruin himself forgot to seize back from her — and obeys her order to charge Yomen's soldiers, the brief attack that breaks Yomen's faith in the Inquisitor enough to let him open the city to Elend's men.
