Shardblade
An ancient magic sword, said to have first been carried by the Knights Radiant against the Voidbringers. Cuts inanimate matter as if it were water; when it touches a living body, it severs the soul rather than cutting flesh, killing where it strikes a spine and dead-numbing a limb where it strikes through one. Eyes burn out and blacken at death by a Blade. A Shardbearer can summon their Blade in ten heartbeats. SA:WoK:Prologue

Known facts
- kills-soul-not-fleshA Shardblade does not cut living flesh — it kills the soul of whatever limb it passes through. The limb falls numb and useless. Only when the body is already dead does the Blade slice tissue normally; this lets Elhokar open the chest after the kill to claim the gemheart.SA:WoK:Ch 13
