The Terris People
also known as Terrisman, Terrismen, Terris
A subject people of the Final Empire — notably tall, raised under strict imperial training programs, and prized by the high nobility as stewards and attendants. Their stewards wear ornate layered robes patterned with the colors of the house they serve. MB1:TFE:Ch 8
Known facts
- stewardship-breeding-programThe Lord Ruler maintains a state breeding program over the Terris. Stewards are castrated soon after birth and trained from infancy into servitude; the population is held small and docile under direct ministry control.MB1:TFE:Ch 16
- settled-at-the-pits-of-hathsin-after-the-fallAfter the fall of the Lord Ruler, the surviving Terris — perhaps forty thousand of them, many men eunuchs like Sazed — were resettled at the Pits of Hathsin. The mining camp's existing barracks, water, and shelter housed them, and the Central Dominance scrub of the surrounding hills proved hardy enough to feed their flocks of short-legged sheep, giving them an easier life from the ash than most of the rest of the empire.MB1:HoA:Ch 18
