Harmony
also known as Sazed
The god worshipped on Scadrial, who speaks in Wax's mind through a Hemalurgic spike earring — at once everywhere and personal. He tells Wax he holds the paired powers of Preservation and Ruin in balance, was once called Sazed, and binds the kandra through their Contract and twin Blessings. He cannot take sides between life and death, and confesses he has made things too easy for the people of the Basin — one of his own ancient servants, Bleeder, has now broken her bonds and slipped from his sight. MB2:SoS:Ch 7
The god Wax invokes by name in moments of feeling. Reverenced across Scadrial, called on by oath and by curse, and credited with designing the city of Elendel itself. MB2:AoL:Ch 1 superseded at MB2:SoS:Ch 7

A Terrisman Keeper — formerly the steward of the impostor Lord Renoux, now travelling alone through the southern reaches of the broken empire, burying the dead, planting forgotten funeral rites, and offering villagers any of the thousand-years extinct religions he carries in his copperminds. He still wears the layered robes of a steward but leaves the heavier jewellery at home to keep highway bandits off his back. MB1:WoA:Ch 4 superseded at MB2:AoL:Prologue
A Terrisman steward in the Renoux household, and one of the last of the secret order of Keepers — Feruchemists who preserve the religions, languages, and lore of the Terris and of every other people the Lord Ruler has tried to erase. Soft-voiced and exactly mannered as before; the steward's posture has always concealed an iron metalmind. MB1:TFE:Ch 22 superseded at MB1:WoA:Ch 4
A Terrisman steward of unusual height and pierced, stretched earlobes, currently in the household of the impostor Lord Renoux in Fellise. Soft-voiced, exactly mannered, with a quiet sense of humor he keeps well hidden under the steward's posture. MB1:TFE:Ch 8 superseded at MB1:TFE:Ch 22
Known facts
- keeperSazed is a Keeper — a secret Terris order the Lord Ruler has hunted nearly to extinction. He claims to carry the prayers, mythologies, and beliefs of five hundred and sixty-two religions.MB1:TFE:Ch 9
- eunuch-stewardSazed is a eunuch, castrated shortly after birth, as are all Terris stewards by the Lord Ruler's standing breeding program. No Terris steward is permitted family or children.MB1:TFE:Ch 16
- 172-languagesSazed tells Vin he carries one hundred and seventy-two languages in memory — most of them, including the Khlenni of the logbook, no longer spoken since the Lord Ruler's fifth-century unification.MB1:TFE:Ch 16
- keeper-of-religionSazed is one of the Keepers, a Feruchemist who wears thick iron arm-bracers concealed beneath his steward's robe and carries a copper bracer holding the corpus of pre-Empire knowledge — prayers, hymns, the dead languages, the chronicles of every people the Lord Ruler erased. Each Keeper carries the whole collection, with a personal area of interest — his is religion. His own people's faith, however, is the one he has not been able to recover.MB1:TFE:Ch 22
- sent-logbook-to-keepersSazed has already deposited the translated logbook at a pre-arranged Keeper dead-drop, so the new pre-Ascension Terris religion enters Keeper memory regardless of his own survival.MB1:TFE:Ch 29
- strength-feruchemy-cellTo break Vin out of Kredik Shaw, Sazed swallows a small metalmind of stored strength, lets himself first waste to a husk, then bulks to a frame heavier than Ham's and tears the bars of her cage and the door of his own out of the wall. The charge is small and burns out within minutes.MB1:TFE:Ch 37
- explains-lord-ruler-powerOn a slum rooftop the morning after, Sazed tells Marsh he believes the Lord Ruler was both Allomancer and Feruchemist — burning his own filled metalminds (especially age) as Allomantic fuel, pouring the excess into the pierced bracelets, and so staying young indefinitely. He cannot yet explain what the Lord Ruler found at the Well, nor why Vin could match his power.MB1:TFE:Epilogue
- documents-daytime-mist-deathsHas become the first of the surviving crew to document, body in front of him, what the mist now does to people caught in it during the day — a death he had witnessed once before himself, weeks earlier, and that the southern villagers have begun to take for an act of an absent god.MB1:WoA:Ch 4
- vow-to-kelsier-to-protect-vinRemembers having sworn to Kelsier that he would protect Vin — a vow he holds even now that Vin is the more dangerous Allomancer of the two.MB1:WoA:Ch 9
- ironmind-flight-by-weight-storageDrops feet-first off the crater rim of the Conventical and fills his ironmind on the way down, bleeding off his own weight until the wind catches him; lands almost weightlessly, then locks the ironmind off and walks on at full weight. Demonstrates that Feruchemical iron stores weight rather than mass, and that filling it is what a Feruchemist does to fall slowly — tapping it would make him heavier.MB1:WoA:Ch 12
- copperminds-are-physical-bracersWears his core memory-store as a pair of broad copper bracers on his upper and lower arms — the metalminds into which he and successive Keepers have spoken the entire accumulated archive of pre-empire cultures. To fill or draw on a Feruchemical metalmind he must be wearing it, so he hides the core bracers in a hollow between two boulders on the crater rim before descending into the Conventical, refusing to risk losing them inside. The narrow rings and bracelets he then carries — iron, pewter, tin, copper, steel — are his working set.MB1:WoA:Ch 12
- castrated-young-by-empireWas castrated as a very young child as part of the Lord Ruler's long programme to breed Feruchemical talent out of the Terris people — and to that programme he owes the lankness of his long arms and legs as well as his standing as a Terris steward. The Lord Ruler is gone; the bodily and cultural mark of his stewardship is not.MB1:WoA:Ch 12
- steelmind-stores-physical-speedHas spent months patiently filling a large steel bracer with his own slowness so it would be ready when he needed it; on the road south of Urbene he straps it on and taps it for physical speed. Demonstrates that Feruchemical steel stores not strength or weight but the rate at which a body moves through the world, and that the price of running unusually fast is having walked unusually slowly first.MB1:WoA:Ch 15
- defies-synod-to-investigate-mistsHas, against the Synod's standing order to teach the people of the Eastern Dominance on the borders of the burnlands, abandoned his post a second time to investigate the day-mist deaths and bring the news to Luthadel — knowing full well that this is the second time he has set the Synod's direction aside on his own judgement. He tells Tindwyl that he would rather be known as arrogant and foolish than risk the people of the land by waiting for permission, and that the last time he defied the Synod the Final Empire fell.MB1:WoA:Ch 23
- begins-translating-kwaan-plateBack in his quarters in Keep Venture, Sazed begins transcribing his rubbing of the Kwaan plate he found beneath the Conventical of Seran — twenty pages of writing in old Terris script, a document by a Worldbringer's own hand, that he expects could keep him studying for months or years. He gives himself one month before he hands the project off to another Keeper.MB1:WoA:Ch 30
- agrees-deepness-was-mistAfter a full night of cross-referencing his copperminds with Tindwyl's in the palace study, Sazed concedes that Vin's guess is right: what the pre-imperial chronicles called the Deepness was — or was at least born out of — a change in the mist itself, swallowing sunlight and starving the lands it settled across. The biography fragment of King Wednegon of Darrelnai is the pair's cleanest evidence: the king in his last weeks blamed his defeat not on the Conqueror's koloss but on the depletion of his food stores, which he credited to the Deepness.MB1:WoA:Ch 37
- starts-believing-vin-is-hero-of-agesSitting alone after Elend leaves, Sazed crosses a private threshold: that Vin may actually be the Hero of Ages the plate and its translation keys point to. He immediately begins writing letters to get her and Elend out of the city before it falls.MB1:WoA:Ch 45
- convenes-crew-to-send-vin-awaySazed convenes a private council of the older Kelsier crewmembers — Breeze, Ham, Clubs, and Dockson — behind Elend and Vin's backs, and persuades them that Vin must be smuggled out of the city before the koloss attack so she can survive to lead resistance from outside. Elend, Tindwyl and Spook are to be sent out with her.MB1:WoA:Ch 46
- fabricates-well-of-ascension-locationSazed tells Vin and Elend that his research has placed the Well of Ascension atop a low peak in the Terris mountains called Deryatith, and offers to draw them a map from his metalminds. He is lying. He has no idea where the Well is or what it would do — the map is a pretext to get Vin and Elend out of the city before it falls.MB1:WoA:Ch 48
- in-love-with-tindwylHolding Tindwyl in a shadowed alcove of Keep Venture's ballroom, hours before the assault begins, Sazed admits to himself that he loves her; she tells him in return that what she loves about him is that he bends without breaking, strong like the wind. Both of them speak of the days around them in the past tense.MB1:WoA:Ch 50
- spends-decades-of-stored-strength-fighting-kolossSazed taps decades of stored strength and speed from his metalminds at Steel Gate, swells to nearly the size of the largest koloss, and breaks the lead creature's skull with a single punch. Standing between the city and the slaughter in a loincloth, he bellows the frozen soldiers back into the fight — the first time the scholar in him takes arms.MB1:WoA:Ch 52
- loses-faith-over-tindwyls-bodyKneeling over Tindwyl's frozen body in the city near morning, Sazed finds every prayer of the three hundred religions in his copperminds hollow in his hands — the Dadradah disc did not save Clubs, the Survivor did not come for the thousands who died in the streets, and if so many people believe so many different things, none can be true. The skaa call him holy; he knows himself the most profane of men, the man who knows three hundred religions and has faith in none of them.MB1:WoA:Ch 54
- begins-to-suspect-vin-is-hero-of-agesRiding behind Vin's battle outside the city, Sazed runs the Hero of Ages prophecy against her — a person not royalty who came to it, who united others, whom kings rode to aid — and realises as Cett's banners crest the rise that they had the wrong gender all along. Tindwyl had insisted to the end that the girl was too convenient a fit. He keeps the thought.MB1:WoA:Ch 55
- named-vins-second-over-three-kingsVin names Sazed her second on the battlefield outside Luthadel, placing him over the three sworn kings — Janarle, Penrod, Cett — until Elend arrives. His first orders are to secure the city, requisition Straff's storehouses, keep the armies from each other, and fetch Elend home from the road.MB1:WoA:Ch 55
- ten-rings-embedded-in-fleshDying at Marsh's hand in Kredik Shaw, Sazed realises the pouch the Inquisitor Pushed into him at high speed contained not coins but his ten unused ring metalminds, now driven into his flesh and touching him directly. He taps gold from within and his wounds heal around the rings, leaving them embedded — and giving him, for the duration of the fight, eight different Feruchemical attributes to draw on without having to wear them.MB1:WoA:Ch 58
- confirms-kwaan-plate-rubbing-was-alteredTwo weeks after the Well, Sazed returns alone to the Conventical of Seran and holds his original rubbing up to the steel plate on the wall. They do not match. Every prophecy he has studied, including the plate-text itself, had been silently altered throughout his study — even against the metalmind copies Keepers are supposed to be able to trust. The whole religion he was raised on, and the Hero of Ages the Keepers spent millennia searching for, was a trick: bait laid by something that needed a willing hero to release it. He sits down on the cold floor and knows at that moment that he will never believe again.MB1:WoA:Epilogue
- cataloguing-religions-after-tindwylIn the year since Tindwyl's death, Sazed has been writing each of the three-hundred-odd pre-Ascension religions the Keepers catalogued out of his copperminds onto sheets of paper, one by one, and judging each on whether it can answer for the loss of her — and for the world the Lord Ruler made. Two-thirds of them have already been rejected as logically inconsistent or self-contradicting. He has a hundred or so left.MB1:HoA:Ch 4
- stopped-wearing-metalmindsAfter writing out the religions from his copperminds Sazed removed every one of his metalminds and packed them away. He still carries them with him; he no longer uses them. It is, in his own thought, a betrayal of every Keeper who died to gather them, and he does it anyway.MB1:HoA:Ch 4
- probably-the-last-feruchemistNo Keeper refugee has reached the New Empire in the year since the Inquisitors slaughtered the Synod and the council at Tathingdwen. Sazed believes he may be the last living Feruchemist — and, as a Terris steward castrated as a child, the last with hope of passing the heredity along. Combined with the Lord Ruler's thousand-year breeding program against the line, he is grim about Feruchemy's survival as anything but a trace.MB1:HoA:Ch 4
- chief-ambassador-of-the-new-empireElend has made Sazed chief ambassador of the New Empire — a title Sazed dislikes for what it implies about his own citizenship, since his people had sworn after the Final Empire never to call any man master again. He keeps the office anyway, out of respect for Elend and a private conviction that a man with no faith cannot lead the Terris at all.MB1:HoA:Ch 4
- scars-from-marsh-at-the-wellSazed still carries the scars where Marsh hit him with a fistful of Feruchemical rings at the Well, embedding the metal in his abdomen. He drew on the stored health in those rings to keep himself alive, then later stored up more health and had a surgeon cut them back out — over Vin's protests that they would be a permanent advantage to him.MB1:HoA:Ch 4
- cataloguing-religions-against-end-timesSazed is working through the religions stored in his copperminds one at a time, applying his own internal tests of consistency and fit with the world he sees, and crossing out any that fail. He marks each rejected religion on its sheet with a verdict of why, then files the sheet away in his portfolio. He is doing it, by his own admission, for himself first — to find one he can believe — before he can give a faith back to anyone else.MB1:HoA:Ch 10
- tindwyl-loss-paralyses-himSazed knows he has every reason a man of his life and station should not be paralysed by Tindwyl's death — he had only a short time with her before she died, his people have lost as much, his work in the empire still needs him — and yet he cannot bring himself back from the loss. Putting his copper metalminds on feels cold, because the touch of them on his arms is the touch of memory; so he no longer wears them.MB1:HoA:Ch 10
- crisis-of-faith-systematically-rules-out-religionsSince Tindwyl's death Sazed has been working through the catalogue of pre-Lord Ruler religions in his Keeper's record, looking for one whose claims he can still believe. Each, in his reading, dies of internal contradiction; divinity, he tells himself, should not let its own followers be slaughtered or let good men trying to save the world destroy it instead. He studies them as he walks, sheets strapped to the outside of his portfolio, the ash held off.MB1:HoA:Ch 18
- terris-stewards-hail-him-as-kingThe aged Terris stewards meeting Sazed on the slope above the Pits address him in turn as Lord Sazed, Your Majesty, and Master Keeper — the Terris of the Pits consider him their king. He refuses the royal title.MB1:HoA:Ch 18
- cast-out-of-keeper-synodBefore the Collapse, Sazed was the lowest-ranked of the Keeper Synod and was cast out of it for his rebellion against their caution; he left Tathingdwen in disgrace and his own people cursed him in their homes. The Terris who now bless him as king do so in spite of, and in unspoken reversal of, that judgement.MB1:HoA:Ch 22
- crisis-of-faith-stops-preachingSazed has stopped preaching the religions in his portfolio to others. He will not advocate for any of them until he is convinced one is true, and so far none of them have given him the comfort he came to them for. He continues searching — methodically, religion by religion — but speaks the work, when pressed, in the tones of a man who already half-expects to find nothing.MB1:HoA:Ch 31
- no-longer-wears-his-metalmindsSazed has set aside his metalminds, and tells Spook plainly that he no longer wears them. He frames it as a refusal of faith: religions that produce a world of ash, oppression, and dead loved ones do not deserve to be carried on the body of a Keeper. The bracelets and rings still exist; he simply will not put them on.MB1:HoA:Ch 31
- suspects-tindwyl-shaped-his-current-workTalking with Spook at the lake, Sazed is forced to consider that he has unconsciously taken up Tindwyl's work — politics, statecraft, Elend's ambassadorship — the way she once took up his, sifting metalmind history with him on the prophecies of the Hero of Ages despite finding religion foolish. He grants only that the observation is clever, not that it explains him; he believes his trouble runs deeper than grief for her.MB1:HoA:Ch 31
- nearing-the-end-of-his-religion-portfolioSazed is approaching the end of the religions held in his Keeper metalminds and is growing afraid that, even with the hundreds of them, he will never find one without contradictions or logical flaws. He continues to perform his work for Elend in Urteau competently, sitting in skaa bars beside Breeze and being seen as the Terrisman who does not lie; underneath it he is in quiet despair about ever finding the truth he set out to find.MB1:HoA:Ch 38
- keeps-his-metalminds-polished-but-refuses-to-wear-themSazed tells Breeze he tends his Feruchemical metalminds — the rings, bracelets, and four copper bracers that hold the Keepers' gathered knowledge — but will not put them on. He considers himself, since Tindwyl's death, the last Keeper; to wear the metalminds while he is still sorting the religions for truth would be to claim a Keeper's authority he has not earned back. He has set them aside until he can believe in what they contain again.MB1:HoA:Ch 46
- resumes-using-his-copperminds-for-engineeringSazed pulls a book on water pressure out of his copperminds for the first time since he set the metalminds aside. He tells himself he is using only the engineering knowledge — not preaching the Keepers' religions — and notes, with a quiet shock, that he is enjoying it. Breeze observes that this looks like the Sazed of the old crew, and argues that letting Spook take operational command of Urteau is delegation, not abdication.MB1:HoA:Ch 49
- admits-he-has-lost-his-faithStanding by the underground lake in the cache, Sazed tells Spook that he can no longer believe in any of the religions he carries. The number of candidates left in his portfolio is down to thirty; the world is ending, and he cannot find a single faith that will hold his weight.MB1:HoA:Ch 56
- religion-stack-finished-with-every-faith-eliminatedAfter a year of carrying his portfolio across the empire, Sazed finishes the catalogue: every religion in his stack has been weighed and dismissed. None can answer why their deities permitted Rashek to enslave the faithful for a thousand years; none can be trusted; the portfolio was his last line of defence against the grief he has carried since Tindwyl died.MB1:HoA:Ch 62
- announcer-is-his-true-title-from-the-terris-propheciesTenSoon addresses Sazed as the Announcer — the prophesied title of the one who points out the Hero of Ages — and Sazed realises that the version in his book (Holy Witness) is one of the lines Ruin rewrote after the Urteau skaa began calling him by the corrupted form. The real word was Announcer.MB1:HoA:Ch 62
- plan-to-compare-corrupted-prophecy-with-firsts-memorySazed arrives in the Homeland with a strategy: his and Tindwyl's reconstructed Hero of Ages doctrine is known to have been tampered with by Ruin before Vin freed him from the Well, so it is corrupt on its face — but the First Generation hold the prophecy in living memory, uncorrupted. Compared line for line, every alteration is a place where Ruin pointed his finger; the shape of his plan can be read from his edits.MB1:HoA:Ch 68
- chooses-to-believeAlone in his cavern quarters at the Homeland, Sazed reaches the end of his examination of the world's faiths and finds the Terris religion no different in shape from the rest. He pulls first-hand sources — letters, journals — from his copperminds to confirm the believers were credulous, and finds instead that they were not, and that what made them believers was small ordinary signs in their own lives rather than grand doctrine. Recognising TenSoon's off-word in the hallway as a sign granted to a prayer of his own, he decides, by choice rather than proof, to believe.MB1:HoA:Ch 75
- sazed-uses-the-grate-itself-as-a-metalmindStripped of his metalminds in a kandra pit-cell, Sazed turns the iron grate over his head and the steel lock holding it into impromptu Feruchemical stores — feeding weight into the iron and speed into the steel by touch. The trick is unorthodox because such metalminds are unportable, but it makes the cell into its own armoury for the moment of escape.MB1:HoA:Ch 78
- sazed-chooses-faith-in-vin-as-the-heroIn the prison-pit, Sazed settles a thing he had been circling for a year: he believes the world will not end. He chooses to believe, not because anything has been proved but because he would rather have hope than not, and his faith is now in Vin specifically — the Hero of Ages of the Terris religion's prophecies, who will come and preserve. The faith brings him peace inside the cage.MB1:HoA:Ch 78
- ascends-as-the-combined-god-harmonySazed takes up both Preservation's and Ruin's powers at the same moment, holding them on the copper bracers along his forearms — the literal answer to the prophecy's *bear the future of the world on his arms.* He emerges as Harmony, a single combined deity. The mortal who never believed in any god becomes the only one of his kind.MB1:HoA:Ch 82
- once-called-sazed*I am Harmony, the Hero of Ages, once called Sazed.* He tells Wax in the coach that at the end of one world he took up the powers of protection and destruction and so became the caretaker of the world to come.MB2:SoS:Ch 7
- occupied-with-red-haze-around-the-worldOn the walk with Wax, Harmony shows him the planet as a small bright sphere ringed by a pressing red haze, held off by a thin shell of light. He does not know what the red is; He admits it frightens Him; He is *occupied* by it, which is part of why He does not intervene more in the lives below.MB2:BoM:Ch 28
- forbids-vendell-on-diamond-sigilVenDell tells Wax and Steris he is *forbidden by Harmony himself* from answering questions about the three-diamond sigil on the masked figure's note — for the first time in Wax's memory the kandra looks uncomfortable — and recommends Wax take the matter to God directly. Marasi: *Nice to know we're working for the defence of the planet itself while God is acting like a child with a secret crush.*MB2:TLM:Ch 15
- frightened-by-matter-energyHarmony tells VenDell that the destructive potential of the harmonium-trellium interaction frightens him *deeply* — the reaction releases only a fraction of the matter's full energy, but even that fraction levels a reinforced laboratory from half a gram of metal.MB2:TLM:Ch 17
- blinded-by-trell-shroudReveals to Wax that the red haze he had seen creeping over the world six years before was a shroud put up by Trell — and that when Harmony attacked it, it Invested the planet, Invested him, and dampened his ability to see the future. He is, in effect, blinded. The shroud will lift on its own in *a few years*, nothing to gods on the long scale, but the danger is now. Like a nearsighted person, he can only see threats once they come very close — and he was too slow to realise how close this one had become.MB2:TLM:Ch 19
- two-intentsNames the two driving Intents he carries: one urging him to preserve and protect, the other urging him to destroy. He sees them as a god's twin and incompatible halves — the source of the balance that keeps him, on his good days, in equilibrium and, on bad days, paralysed.MB2:TLM:Ch 19
- blindness-and-dark-shadowCornered in a Bilming interrogation room with Wax and Marasi, VenDell confirms what Wax has feared and admits more: Harmony has been *blind* — unable to see the secret movements of the Set for some time — and has been quietly concealing the disability from his own kandra. Worse, VenDell reports a *dark shadow* behind Harmony when he listens. Something is wrong with their god.MB2:TLM:Ch 26
- blinded-by-another-godTenSoon tells the Bilming-crisis council that Harmony has been unable to see certain things lately — he is working blind. Asked what could possibly blind a god, Steris mutters the answer: another god.MB2:TLM:Ch 38
- shows-wax-the-sazed-visionWithout Wax currently pierced by trellium to commune, Harmony still presses through Trell's interference to answer Wax's plea — *don't ask me to do this again* — with a wordless impression: an exhausted, overwhelmed man lying broken on an ashen street in front of a shattered city gate, surrounded by death. The Hero of Ages knows exactly how this feels.MB2:TLM:Ch 62
- can-stun-telsinAtop the Shaw, at Wax's request, Harmony briefly interrupts Telsin's Connection to Autonomy long enough that her overburdened body collapses unconscious to the rooftop. He warns Wax that only Autonomy withdrawing her power can actually kill Telsin now — his interference is a stun, not a strike — but it is the first time within the book that Harmony directly acts against an Autonomy avatar.MB2:TLM:Ch 66
- senses-pieces-moving-in-the-cosmereOver the curve of the world, Harmony confides to Wayne that he is *nervous.* His vision has returned now that Autonomy's hand is off the board, and he can see pieces in the cosmere aligning — pointed at this world. The Basin is not free of their influence. But it has, thanks to Wayne, time to prepare.MB2:TLM:Ch 74
Events
- MB2:BoM:Ch 28 Walks with Wax in the mist between worlds, argues about intervention, shows him the planet under siege by a red haze, and offers two hands.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 19 Speaks with Wax face-to-face in the Spiritual Realm — first conversation in six years — and admits his blinding, names Trell as Autonomy's avatar, and asks Wax to be his sword *final time*.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 66 Speaks in Wax's head throughout — confirms Autonomy will not personally intervene, admits he might be able to briefly cut Telsin's Connection, and does when asked.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 69 Voice in Wax's head — confirms the dead-man's rig, names the bomb as a harmonium-trellium splitter, and warns that even an ocean blast may not be safe.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 71 Speaks to Wax and Wayne through the bridge controls, confirms the wiring is part of the dead-man's rig, and counts down the twenty minutes before impact.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 71 Cuts in to tell Wax there is a way, and points him at the vial he was given — which Wayne has already palmed.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 71 Appears beside Wayne as a shadow-mirror of his Terris form, explains what the red-corked vial is, walks him through the choice, gives him a hat, and stands still in time as Wayne burns.
- MB2:TLM:Ch 74 Meets Wayne above the curve of the planet, walks him through the withdrawal of Autonomy and the shape of the cosmere beyond, accepts a handshake, and lets him go.
- MB2:SoS:Ch 7 Speaks aloud in Wax's mind the moment the earring goes back in — sardonic, patient, and afraid of what Bleeder is becoming.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 8 Drives Kelsier and Vin from the city road to Manor Renoux; seated as Vin's companion through the visit.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 9 Coaches Vin on her Lady Valette cover during her haircut; pitches her Trelagism.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 10 Comes up to the roof to tell Kelsier about Jaism — a religion of fervent open devotion whose followers were too visible for the Ministry to miss.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 11 Prays a Cazzi death-chant over the bodies; later physically restrains Vin from eavesdropping on Kelsier and Dockson.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 12 Drives Vin to Keep Venture as her steward, walks her in through the foyer, then withdraws to the stewards' dinner to eavesdrop on the high nobility's servants.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 13 Reports Vin's balcony conversation with Lord Elend to Kelsier and Lord Renoux back at the manor.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 15 Carries Vin in out of the rain, asks for pewter to stabilize her, then stitches her gut closed from his Keeper's medical training. Sets the leather-bound Khlenni tome he carried out of the palace beside the kitchen table.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 16 Works at his desk in Lord Renoux's library translating the Khlenni tome when Vin finds him, and answers — partially — her questions about what a Keeper is.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 17 Joins the meeting carrying the logbook and reports what he has translated so far: not a religious text but a travel journal written by the man who would become the Lord Ruler, from the days before his Ascension.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 18 Attends Vin as her steward through the Elariel ball, disapproves of Elend's manners at her table, takes his dinner among the servants while she dances, and on the way home flags her observation about Elend leaving with rival-house heirs as something Kelsier will want to hear.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 19 Reports the evening at Keep Elariel for Vin, and flags that Elend Venture left the ball with young lords of two of Venture's rival houses.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 22 Vin corners him in Renoux's upper library at the last pages of the translation. Pressed on the packmen, he pulls back his sleeve to show the iron and copper bracers underneath his robe and explains Feruchemy — and that he is one of the Keepers the Lord Ruler would like to believe extinct.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 23 Waits for Vin at the appointed balcony, asks about her smudged makeup and her second handkerchief, then — when she asks — gives her formal permission to use Allomancy again to tail Elend's friends up the tower.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 24 Arrives with Vin, politely declines the wine, and sits at the kitchen table to confirm to the others that she has been working her court contacts well.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 25 Confesses he only has two or three hours of stored speed in his metalminds — not enough for the run north. Kelsier leaves him at the shop.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 27 Arrives in a skaa cloak with a letter from Marsh naming a meeting place in the Twists for that night.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 29 Sits with Vin in the eastern garden, confirms the logbook has no more pages, and lets her try (and fail) to burn one of his Feruchemical stores.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 29 Will copy the Marsh map in the time it takes Clubs to put the Canton table back together — and will, of course, also memorize it into Keeper record.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 29 Comes up to Kelsier's room late and gives him first the Bennet and then, on request, the Valla — the religion most apt to a man looking for permission to keep fighting in the dark.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 30 Comes back from the stewards' dinner with the news that the other Great Houses have cancelled their balls — this one is the last — and is sent ahead to warn Kelsier.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 31 Stitches Vin's arm and cheek with the calm of a man who keeps a healer's bag for nights like this.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 33 Standing in steward's robes at the hearth, cooking stew for the cellar; admits he has not heard the Eleventh Metal legend before.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 35 Calls up from the safe-house rooftop ladder until Vin lets herself drop out of the mist.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 35 On the rooftop, telling Vin that belief is not a thing for fair days and that he means to ride north to the Keepers with Rashek's name and the logbook.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 35 Watches the crowd from the rooftop and names what gives a religion its hold — believers with someone to feel passionate about.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 35 Follows Vin to the warehouse and stays at her elbow as she takes Kelsier's note from the pouch and arms herself for Kredik Shaw.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 37 Naked, bound, and beaten in the next cage — the wreckage deliberate, the metalmind already swallowed and waiting in his stomach.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 37 Strength gone, hobbling, trying to store another charge while the Ministry squad closes; argues Vin toward leaving him until she finds her mistcloak and vial in a wall-trunk.
- MB1:TFE:Ch 38 Arrives behind a wooden spear, splints Vin's broken leg, and stands with her at the aged Lord Ruler's side as she finishes him.
- MB1:TFE:Epilogue Sits beside Vin on the slum rooftop, splinting her leg and reasoning his way through the Lord Ruler's mixed Allomancy and Feruchemy aloud.
- MB1:HoA:Ch 12 Sits to the side, almost forgotten until he raises the mist-casualty cost of moving the army through the mists; later asks to be excused from the Urteau mission for personal research and is, gently, refused by Elend.
- MB1:HoA:Ch 56 Wears his four Keeper coppermind bracers, supervises Goradel's men building the cavern's flood-and-dam mechanism, then admits at the lakeside to Spook that he has lost his faith — and recognises it in the boy's eyes when Spook hands him back a definition of it.
- MB1:HoA:Ch 58 Walks Spook through the flood mechanism one last time, sets four soldiers to throw the lever on signal, and joins the strike force moving on Quellion.
- MB1:HoA:Ch 58 Runs to Spook on the stage after the Beldre reveal, reports the city is burning and the riot has slipped Breeze's control, and afterwards joins Spook in front of the burning Ministry when no one can reach the lever. Calls Spook no god, just a man — then is left behind when Spook dashes back into the flames.
- MB1:HoA:Ch 59 Receives TenSoon in a stripped obligator's quarters, tells him Vin is in Fadrex, and — to TenSoon's surprise — does not react when TenSoon hints at religious matters and the Hero of Ages legends. TenSoon notices something is missing from the Keeper without being able to name what.
- MB1:HoA:Ch 80 Found by Elend in the Trustwarren corridor straining to hold the great doors against KanPaar's trapped band; identifies the cavern as the kandra Homeland and the Lord Ruler's atium cache.
- MB1:HoA:Ch 81 Stands in the Trustwarren explaining that the hoard is Ruin's missing body and insisting Vin will come; provides the theology, while Elend finds the tactical answer.
- MB1:WoA:Ch 22 Walks back into Luthadel alone on foot in dirty, ash-smelling robes, comfortable in the night mist, and tells Vin he was not planning to return but that events have brought him; he has news of a "disconcerting nature" for the king.
- MB1:WoA:Ch 23 Travel-dirty and bare-eared (earrings removed to discourage thieves on the road), sits across from Elend at the kitchen alcove and delivers his two reports while a chef prepares his meal; forces himself to eat only when the king orders him to.
- MB1:WoA:Ch 31 One of the two Terrismen Elend brings into the Assembly chamber with his party.
- MB1:WoA:Ch 34 Reads the codified Assembly charter at Elend's table — neatly stacked volumes around him — and tells Elend there is no procedural escape from Cett's candidacy and that his duty is to lead by his own conscience, not by what the people happen to want.
- MB1:WoA:Ch 36 Leaves the warehouse with Tindwyl from Breeze's viewpoint at the start of the scene, before Breeze retreats to the palace booth.
- MB1:WoA:Ch 41 Receives Elend in his rooms, backs the dethroned king's choice not to have lied to the Assembly, and quietly sends him on his way the moment Elend decides what he is going to do next.
- MB1:WoA:Ch 46 Convener of the secret council; ostensibly flustered at being read so easily by Breeze, lets Clubs and Dockson argue out the Straff/koloss scenario before he finally says aloud what he actually wants from the meeting — that Vin must be sent away.
- MB1:WoA:Ch 48 Pulled from sleep in a white robe; sews Vin up, witnesses the Larsta love-oath, then pitches her and Elend the fabricated Well map as a reason to leave the city.
- MB1:WoA:Ch 49 Watches the riders disappear with the others; admits Tindwyl stayed without giving a reason; debates Clubs over situational morality and the value of belief.
- MB1:WoA:Ch 53 Arrives alongside Ham at the hovel where Breeze is hiding, reports Dockson silent for over an hour and Clubs confirmed dead, and orders the soldiers to carry Breeze to Keep Hasting.
